The Evil Dead(1981)
-The famous eyeball in the mouth scene was an idea that came from the 3 stooges.
-The film’s title was changed from Book of the Dead, as producers feared that kids wouldn’t see a movie with the word “book” in the title
-The Arabic passages read from The Book of the Dead translate to: “Rob Tapert and Sam Raimi are the men on the side of the road”
The Exorcist(1973)
Halloween(1978)
Night of the living Dead(1968)

Psycho
-The shower scene in Psycho consists of over 90 individual shots delivered in just 45 seconds--and no single shot ever shows the knife entering Janet Leigh's body.
-Chocolate Syrup was used as the blood.
-The sound effect of the knife was actually a knife entering a melon.
-It was the first film during that time that showed a toilet being flushed
The Silence of the Lambs
Poltergeist
-In the 6 years that it took to film the trilogy, 5 people attached to the film died.
-The only scene that actually frightened the girl who played Carol Ann was the scene in which everything was getting pulled into her closest by a large wind that was created using a wind fan. She actually broke down in this scene and Steven Speilberg had to stop the scene and hold her.
-JoBeth Williams who played the mother of Carol Ann was scared to do the pool scene because of the electrical equipment that was surrounding the pool. So in order to convince her to do the scene he had to get into the pool with her and he told her, "Now if a light falls in, We'll both fry".
-In the scene where Robbie gets choked by the clown, there was an ACTUAL error with the clown that caused it to choke the actor for real to the point where he had to scream for help. Steven Speilberg at first thought he was improvising but after the kid turned blue he helped him.

Nightmare on Elm Street
-Wes Craven got the idea of Freddy when he came across an article he found about teens that were too terrified to go to sleep.
-“In the middle of the night they heard these horrendous screams and crashings and they ran in and he’s thrashing on the bed. They ran to him and by the time they got to him he was dead. They did an autopsy on him and there was nothing physically wrong with him. And I just thought: “My God.”

~Wes Craven
-The inspiration for the character of Freddy came from several sources in Wes Craven’s childhood. Fred Krueger was a schoolmate of Craven with whom he had shared a paper route, and who had bullied him for several years.
-The only movie New Line Cinema made that reached the same success as Nightmare was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 : The Secret of the Ooze.-Over 500 gallons of fake blood were used during the making of the film.
-The working title for the movie was “The Dream Killer”, but had to have it’s name changed as that was the current nickname of Ed McMahon who was hosting Star Search at the time.
-Robert Englund still owns the original Freddy Glove.
-All the One Liners freddy said were improvised, so Englund had to come up with 5 different lines for each murder…
