Who do YOU think is the killer? |
First of all.....wow..I have to say that I truly loved the movie and how much it really has created a, "New Decade, New Rules", genre of horror. What all the writers, including Wes Craven, brought to the table made the perfect combination of horror and comedy to make the movie an instant hit. They did make a "remake" but not those shitty kinds that veer way too far off the road that the first movies followed. The original characters are of course in this movie and Sidney is back more stronger than ever.(Seriously..she's like a ninja in this movie pulling some jackie-chan type kicks)Gale of course is her usual bitch self, though she isn't this way in the beginning. And now, Dewey is the cute sheriff of the town who is crushed on by another cop. As we all know there is also a whole new generation of young characters that are sure to make the boys go ooo and ahh...not the girls however since it's all about the nice chests. Even though I'm girl, I still did like Hayden Pannettiere's character of Kirby cause she was hot and feisty. The opening scene was probably my favorite part of the movie and I can truly said they out-did themselves with it. They probably put more thought into the opening scene then they did the whole movie. Anyways, as for the rest of the movie there are a lot of twists and mind-fucks and character development is at it's best as you truly get to love some of the characters and SUSPECT some of them too. I have heard people say they actually knew who the killer was from the beginning...but I didn't..and I'm sure most won't because, "it's never who it seems to be". In this movie they even have a new set of rules aside from the ones that Randy laid down in the other Scream movies. Now there are new set of "rules for modern films" that include;
- the kills have to be way more extreme
- the unexpected is the new cliche
- virgins can die now, so it's better to be gay
- the killer should be filming the murders
Final Thought: Go see the movie that you been waiting 11 years for. It doesn't disappoint. It has some great comedy in it. A marvelous ending. And on top of all that...there are more to come so you better get prepared by watching the first one.
