The Walking Dead Season 2....so far.

So I think we can all agree(or at least I believe so) that this season of The Walking Dead has to be by far the best one. I felt like the other season just dragged a little bit..while on the other hand this season seems to contain action in every episode.

I'm also not sure if they did this last season but I love the Story Sync feature on AMC's website where you can follow this interactive storyline with the episode as it's going on. You can learn trivia on the show, answer polls, and even join in on a Walking Dead discussion.

One reason why I love this season is the characters in this season and how much they have changed. This season we are truly starting to see what the apocalypse is doing to them as far as changing their values and priorities. We see a lot of people's personality's changing as well...and shall I say that a lot of their "true colors" are beginning to seep through.

When it comes to Lori, we begin to see just how much of a trained housewife she must have been back before the walkers invaded. She's very old fashioned and you learn this in this season when she confronts Andrea about not doing her part of the household chores like laundry and cooking...because you know clothes that smell like snuggles really works at keeping the walkers away. Andrea of course rather stand watch for walkers but Lori on the other hand feels like supporting them by slaving away at home which to her is being much more productive. I'm sure she changes her thoughts regarding this however after Dale's death.

Dale's death was a shock to my system as I'm sure to yours. It was un-expecting and it seriously reminded me that this world was very vulnerable and that no character was safe. I kind of forgot that as the episodes continued with no deaths of main characters. However, after having him die && then immediately having the next big death appear in the next episode I had to take a a big step back mentally and just think, Woah. Dale's death was so emotional for me though because he was a strong character. To me he was the one who kept the walker's world from crossing the figurative boundary into the groups world. He tried his hardest to keep what ever they had left from the old world from disappearing, and he was the only reason Andrea is still alive today. It sucks to lose one of the root characters like Dale. I mean who else is left to give advice to Glen or anyone else in need of some wise advice from the old???

Moving on to Carl. Well he's just a lil f*ck isn't he? Man this kid has pissed me off so much this season..that was until tonight's episode...(more on that another time). He has grown up A LOT this season and really QUICKLY too. However, instead of following in Rick's footsteps he's following in Shane's. Which may be a smarter survival tactic, though you could lose your sanity in the process. You can see his mind and attitude start to change a lot. He tries to use guns whenever he can(or at least attempt to), he tries to find reasons to be at the executions of others, && then the way he coldly told poor Carol that Sophia isn't in heaven =[ was terrible. This all was bound to happen though given the world they live in and the fact that his whore of mother decided to bring another baby into this world. He had to grow up someday, and I guess this was his time.

I won't reveal anything that appeared in the episode that aired tonight, but someone however did die. && as a lil hint to those who read the comics...Carl finally gets to complete his comic book destiny, && that pivotal scene that we all thought was overlooked...ISNT.

Again let me remind you all that this show is far from predictable...&& you have to remember that what you thought should have, could have, would have happened...just may NOT.

As far as answers being revealed in this season, as of yet, there has been none concerning what was said at the CDC. However we do see a new evolution in the disease, as it begins to change and strengthen it's virility(meaning it's spread much easier now). When Randall dies @ the hands of the crazed-one aka Shane, it's revealed that you DON'T have to get bitten to become a walker...you can become one by simply dying. This is a game changer for both us and them, and it proves to everyone that this virus is still very much alive and evolving with time.

I believe that this whole seasons changes from focusing on the walkers and more on the people living in this world. You see a lot of your favorite characters become your most hated...&& you watch some of your favorite characters die.

Here's a spoiler line from tonight episode..I'll talk more about this episode after everyone has for sure watched it:

"This was you not me"

Mid-Season premiere of The Walking Dead! 2012

So we finally return right where we left off....
 the barn massacre.

&& the first problem we must solve is the Sophia issue..&& whether Hershel has been keeping her zombified body a secret or not....well..he WAS. Everyone on the farm knew...but like Glenn said.."Maybe this is for the best" According to him, Sophia's disappearance was different than the rest of the missing survivors...it's for this reason they end up giving her a proper burial(poor Andrea..her sister didn't get the same red-carpet treatment)

In other exciting news, b/c of Shane falling off his rocking chair last season....THERE OUT OF A HOME or a piece of LAND shall I say. Or @ least Shane is....ohh && Dale STILL hates Shane "I knew guys like him...Sooner or later he's gonna kill somebody else". Though..we shouldn't jump the gun on Shane folks...he still has a heart && he shows it in this episode.."I'm just trying to keep everyone safe".

As far as Rick, he is starting off this season still uneasy about his leadership abilities and whether he has what it takes to lead. With all the recent disasters happening in the group, he is beginning to blame himself, && lose faith in the drive that got him to where he is now.

In the meanwhile...in the background..one of the residents at the farm goes into SHOCK...&& Glenn's got 99 zombies and the live one's the issue...

WhErE's hErShEl?!?!?
Drinking his "miracles" away..according to him the group played him for a fool. "You guys are like the plague!"

"Stop running around solving everyone else's problems! Your son needs a father who is ALIVE!"-Lori
"We NEED Hershal for the baby!!!"-Rick

"Oh"
Of course it is shortly after this that Lori decided to grow a pair of non existent rubber balls and follow Rick and Glen into town...when all of a sudden..predictably...BAM! She crashes(I swear the previews didn't already give this away =p) So time for a hypothetical question: Does Lori die or get saved? We must wait till next time for an answer.

Also...NEW PEOPLE stop by for a lil bit..&& then leave in a rush =\  One of the strangers left us with a quote to ponder on.. "Ain't nobody's hands clean...we're all the same in this world". The strangers main motives: to get a place on the farm for their group...unfortunately given the day that Rick has been having he has to decline their offer to pull in resources.

As the show ends we see a new side of Rick that paints him as more of a leader. He does a first during this episode that he has never had to do in this new world before, but I'll leave you to watch it yourself.

We are left with a cliffhanger this week, wondering if what the hell happened to Lori?...Stay tuned next week.

Some funny pictures to leave ya'll off with.

Prediction for this season: It's gonna be worth watching every week.

Season Premiere && more of Season 2 of "The Walking Dead" and updates...

So as all of you zombie humpers and just plain comic book lovers alike must know that season 2 of The Walking Dead premiered last night on AMC at 9. YAYYY!!!! I myself am obsessed with this show =] && feel like they never give me enough episodes in a season! Lets hope that this season we will get a bigger gift ala Walking Dead producers.

Season 1 only had 7 episodes!!!!!! Well that was a huge disappointment when after the 6th episode they were like, "Stay tuned from next week's season finale". Isn't always unsuspecting? Any who this season might make me a lil bit happier however since it was renewed for 13 episodes this season. *super cheese* on my face right now. I kind of look like this ----> =p

Well....here are some key facts you should know entering the 2nd season for those of you who either forgot, are noobs, or are just oblivious to this information.
Oh Amy how you life was so shortlived.
  • Rick Grimes is the main protagonist, husband of Lori Grimes, and father of the only cute lil' boy on the show, CARL!  Thankfully Carl has a lil girl companion on the show 2 accompany him but don't ask me what her name is because I have no clue.
  • The show is based off of the once popular and now MEGA popular Comic Book series created by Robert Kirkman. Seriously folks, if you like the show then you must read the comic.
  • Shane Walsh is Rick's bf and old cop buddy before the apocalypse. He did Rick a "favor" for the period of time that he was gone by being his wives replacement for Rick. What a great friend he is? Always trying to convince Lori that he was dead and theres no hope! Wonder how he kept Lori happy during this time?
  • Back to Rick, he got shot in the pilot episode, ended up in a hospital in a coma, and conveniently woke up after the whole battle went on the hospital. This explains him missing for so long before joining the group with GUNS.
  • While Rick was gone, Shane became the father figure for Carl as well which really strengthened the bond between the two. Problem is, Rick is back and Shane doesn't know how to cope with the loss of his "temporary perfect family."
  • The un-deceased list(who matters) is...Amy who's is Andrea's sister(she's the blonde pictured above), Ed the abusive husband of Carol(pixie hair cut) who got an ill beat down by Shane and his roid rage, && Jim(who is a sweetheart in real life) who ties himself to a tree to be left after being bitten.
  • The CDC was a dead end for the group though the learned now where it the disease originally came from....Jenner(a scientist) also whispered something into Rick's ear right before he left....(dun dun dunnnnnn)...could it be a cure? a safe haven? Lori's pregnant with Shane's child?? We find out this season.
  • Insider Tip: There are webisodes online on AMC that give you a look into how the most popular walker person aka Hannah became a zombie && the events when the outbreak first hit! You can find her picture on the post.
Now this season(#2) you can expect to see the potential un-death of a main character, a lot of blame being put on Rick(and subsequent guilt) and a LOT of time spent on a farm....MOOOOOOOO.
List of Season 3 Episodes from the season premiere on:
  • "What Lies Ahead" 7.26 million viewers
  • "BloodLetting" 6.70 million viewers
  • "Save the last One" 6.10 million viewers
  • "Cherokee Rose" 6.29 million viewers
  • "Chupacabra"
  • "Secrets"
  • "Pretty Much Dead already"

Season Premiere of Season 2 review:
I truly think the season opened with a bang. We got an hour and a half long episode which is always a good thing for premieres because it is a long enough amount of time to figure out what happened last season and connect it to the premiere of this season. It also provided us with a reminder of why we watched this series in the first place, by living up to its name in a BIG WAY. The episode itself had a lot of emotional twists and turns and you have to love the fact that it started right where it left off...THANK GOD...because it's been WAYY too long. I love when shows do that rather than forcing you to guess what the hell happened between that period of time. Of course the best part was and still is the zombies, and there is definitely no shortage of them. The special effects as usual are f*cking amazing and you get to truly worship the art with a very nerve-wrecking scene between a walker and one of the characters. You'll even get an "inside" peek at what the zombies look like =] Also, expect the season premiere to be focused on the children a lot and how they are growing and coping with the zombie apocalypse. The show never really focused on them before in a big way so with the season premiere they are making up for lost time. In this episode you can truly see how they are molding to their new life and the effects it's having on their personalities. Secrets will also be let out, hope will be diminished even more, and some of the followers are considering parting ways. In the season premiere we can see the group starting to separate and not be as cohesive as they were originally. I won't go into any further detail as to not give anything anyway, because I hate unsuspecting spoilers. Regardless, this season ought to be a good one and I would have to say that the majority of cable viewers agreed with me last night when they were all sitting in front of their tv's at 9pm.

Its hannah!

Also...after each encore presentation of Sundays you can catch a show called "Talking Dead" with Chris Hardwick that will discuss the latest episode with fans, producers, and actors of the show!

Congratulations to everyone who is a part of The Walking Dead crew and cast....because....the season 2 premiered with 7.3 million viewers making it the most watched drama in the history of cable television....YIPEEEE.

SIDE NOTE: Make sure to catch the Scream Awards tuesday night at 9pm on Spike Television. The Walking Dead has numerous nominations...not to mention it's the best damn awards show. PERIOD. Sexyy & goryy =]

A cool bonus for reading my blog =]
11/07/11 Update: This week's episode was the most shocking one yet. First of all, Glen had sex! Guess any sex is good sex when there's not many choices. Second, Lori secretly gets a pregnancy test which of course by the end of the episode reveals she's pregnant! Well...Rick is going to be pissed about this. Bye SHANE!...and Carl is awake!!!! I love him sooo I'm happy as happy as the clam that doesn't get chosen by the hungry customer =]

11/10/11 update: After the airing of the 7th episode the show with go a hiatus and the next episode won't premiere until February 12, 2012.

11/13/11 Update: Today's episode was pretty intense. Hershel hates the outsiders. Some evidence was found concerning Sophia that re-establishes hope in some of the gang. Carol has been getting closer and closer to Daryl(who is slowly losing his mind) which makes me assume there are some feelings there that will eventually come out. A big secret was discovered by Glenn, think harvesting, that more info will be revealed about in the next episode && Andrea has a shitty shot.

Mid-Season Finale update: Wow...so the mid-season finale left off with quite a shocker. First of all, Shane is definitely going off the deep end and he is starting to believe he is some tyrant nowadays. He's more like Napoleon than a ex-cop these days. Especially since he heard the news about Lori's pregnancy, no thanks to Rick. Of course he thinks the baby is his, but the triflin hoe says it ain't and it won't ever be. Honestly, I think he should just tell Rick and then that baby will for SURE be his. We also get to find out where the hell Sophia has been this whole time, so no more playing "Where in the US in Sophia". Hershel has even been able to manage making himself look even more crazier this episode as well. This whole "People" instead of "Walker" thing has me freaking scratching my head. Obviously, he needs some glasses cause this guy in near-sighted. Next season we should all be looking out for how these characters either crumble or rise above with all these revelations and issues.

Season 2 Spoilers: You should not expect the group to stay together, they WILL try to branch away from eachother.
Lori's pregnancy isn't what the CDC doctor whispered into Rick's ear.
Dale and Shane's issues will come to head in the second half of Season 2.
They will also be revealing what happened to Merle after he cut his hand off.

The future for A&E's hit series...The Walking Dead

So we all seen The Walking Dead right?!? I mean how can you not see the first show about brain eating zombies?! Well..I have...and I loved it..and Hated it...But regardless of my sentiments...It's back for a season 2!
The Cast:
  • Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes(the most awesome cop ever)
  • John Bernthal as Shane Walsh(the backstabber)
  • Sarah Callies as Lori Grimes(the ho)
  • Laurie Holden as Andrea(the unstable one)
  • Jeffrey Demunn as Dale(the grandpa)
  • Steven Yeun as Glen(the smart chinese mastermind)
  • Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes(the kid torn b/w 2 dads)(premiering at big apple comic con this spring)
Of course there's a whole list of more characters but I got to bored writing all these down, so I'm sure this is good enough.

This show is awesome for many reasons, the only negative is that it can be slow sometimes and it lacks what you find in most zombie movies which action sequence after action sequence. Its more like a dawn of the dead kind of show where they hold themselves up in one location for 5 episodes and then move to the next for another 5 episodes.

Of course the awesome part of this show is the zombies and that it plays so well with the creative and amazing comic book series as well. The freaking characters even look pretty well alike.
So anyways onto season 2 details.....
  • For 1 it will probably release in October just like season 1 of the show because they just start filiming in May of this year.
  •  Stephen King may write an episode in season 2
  • Any character is subject to a gruesome death.
  • There will be ONLY 13 episodes =[
  • Bernthal: “Shane screwed up pretty big at the end of the season. We’re gonna see a guy who is really, really lonely. It’s a different kind of loneliness. He’s with the people he loves and he can’t be with them the way he wants to. You will see the worst of him and the best of him in season two."
  • Holden:“The only reason Andrea left the CDC is because she didn’t want Dale’s blood on her hands. She has lost everything and has no love in her life and there will be a lot of resentment towards Dale in season two. Andrea will get stronger and find her feet. In the graphic novel she emerges as a warrior, so I’m excited for that. She may be a bit of a lone wolf in season two, just trying to find her feet.” Bernthal: “In this season, you’re going to see that these people are a lot more dangerous to each other than the zombies are."
  • Holden: “I know we are going to get to Hershel’s farm in season two. But I can’t wait to get to the prison. Tyreese (Keith Allen Hayes is rumored in the role) and Michonne and The Governor -- we’ve got some very bad ass people we are going to meet, but I don’t think we will get to the prison in season two because there is a lot to do, but we haven’t read the script so we don’t know.”
  • Shane Walsh might have an early departure on the show...*hint*hint* but no final script has been seen until just prior to them shooting. (I'm going to hate to see this triangle turn into a line)

All in All, it looks like we still have a while till we can get our zombie fix on television. In the meantime though go watch some great Zombie movies like Dawn of the Dead or a classic like Night of the living dead....or even better...watch season 1 of The Walking dead so you can refresh your memory way to far in advance =]

*In case of zombie apocalypse....FOLLOW ME!*
