The Weinstein Company (TWC) announced today a new initiative in the video game space by launching TWC Games. The TWC Games label will utilize The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films' strong and recognizable properties, and work with external partners to develop and publish video games for mobile, social, and console platforms. Properties in The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films catalogue include SCREAM, HELLRAISER, HALLOWEEN, SCARY MOVIE, and CHILDREN OF THE CORN, among many others.
“The video game marketplace is changing at such a rapid rate. With all of the digital platforms, there are so many opportunities to broaden our audience with compelling, high quality, cost-efficient, video game entertainment," said Bob Weinstein.
TWC Games has formed a strategic consultancy with Beefy Media, a video game production company, to foster relationships with publishers and create high quality games. Beefy Media President, Adam Boyes, will work closely with Matthew Signer, TWC Vice President, Production and Creative Affairs, to foster strategic partnerships and oversee all production aspects of the games.
"The Weinstein Company is an incredible entertainment company, and I share their vision for creating very high quality content for the marketplace,” said Boyes. “We plan to combine our extensive video game developer relationships with the impressive catalogue of properties to create and produce content made by gamers for gamers.”

(Silent Hill Game)Did you see those monsters? Have you ever seen such aberrations? Ever even heard of such things? You and I both know creatures like that don't exist
Silent Hill (the franchise)
The Most infamous boss, Pyramid Head. |
Ok, first off. If you like the horror genre and being scared out of your underwear than this is the game for you. This game was first released in 1999 and was obviously made by Japanese game producers. Konami in particular. This is a great game for ps2 users and it has just been moved to Xbox 360, with its Silent Hill:Homecoming and is even on Wii with Silent Hill:Shattered Memories. The original version for Ps2 is probably the best installment of the game. Its the creepiest, has the best soundtrack, and best endings. Its where it all started and just like all movies it leaves the best first impression you could ever ask for a horror game. All of the games are a first person survival video game, that includes you controlling some kind of protagonist that you must try to take through and try to escape the town of Silent Hill. They all have great story lines that never veer off the path of the original, that says that silent hill is a town hosted by a freak group in which I will not explain more. You are supplied with weapons in each of these games that usually include some type of handgun, an axe, and a knife. We also can't forget the most unforgettable weapon, the radio. Though it is not a weapon that you directly hit any other enemies with, it is used as a detector of spirits. Whenever a demon dog or any other threat approaches, a white noise plays warning you of upcoming threats. This is pretty creepy when your in your bedroom playing alone and all you hear in your room is the white noise coming from your TV. If you think I'm lying, try the game out for yourself. The game controls are really easy on every platform, the only con is the camera views. They really are horrid and sometimes hurt your game play overall. The one for Xbox 360 though, beware, is probably the most difficult and provides a challenge when compared to the other games(this is said by many users). It has a great story line regardless, but the save points are too far in between and not enough health is distributed. I completed it though, so for hard-core gamers this shouldn't be a problem. In the end, this series is one of the best in it's category, the horror genre for video games. It has even been adapted to the big screen in Silent Hill the movie(great movie 4 those who played the game/and haven't) All of the Silent Hill games include Silent Hill 1(ps2/ps); Silent Hill 2(ps2); Silent Hill 3(ps2); Silent Hill 4: the room(ps2); Silent Hill 5: Homecoming(xbox 360/ps3/pc); Silent Hill: Origins(psp/ps2); Silent Hill:Shattered Memories(wii/psp) and in the future Silent hill 6: Other recommendations, Clock Tower and Fatal Frame.
