New horror videogames......

This year around fall expect a handful of horror zombie games to be released. Now of course all this information is factual the dates however aren't set in stone and could likely change for any number of reasons.

1. Dead Island

WebPage: deadisland.deepsilver.com
Release Date: september 2011...hopefully
Synopsis: The player is drawn into the world of the dead island on the brink of an epidemic that suddenly, and without warning, on the fictional island of Banoi. As a guest of the Royal Palms resort, the players stay was supposed to be a dream holiday; a luxurious getaway to the beautiful beaches of a tropical paradise. But faced with the reality of a zombie apocalypse, there is nothing left to do but; survive.
Characters: There are 4 characters who are all immune to the disease on the island. Their names are Xian Mei (a staff member at the hotel), Logan (a surfer), Sam B (a former rapper) and Purna. All four are in the Hero category.
GamePlay: Its a first-person shooter that is supposedly going to be realistic to the max. You can also play co-op with up to 4 players(kinda like left for dead). The map is kind of like the far cry map in that its huge and open. There's a rumor that there won't be no guns on the island available to make it realistic. Instead you will find other weapons like mostly knives and pipes that you can customize to make awesome shit(like dead rising 2)....the game is going to focus primarily on melee combat. There will also be special zombies that are more powerful than the "normal" zombies and the zombies have fully-modeled layers of meat and muscle rendered onto their bodies, meaning they have a multi-layered damage system with real-time injuries. There is also an experience system and a skill tree system. There is also a stamina bar, meaning that after a set amount of action with a weapon, the character will need to stop to regain their stamina before continuing to attack. The game however has been delayed multiple times with it's original release date in 2007, so hopefully this time they will go through with it.

2. The Walking Dead

Webpage: No official webpage yet.
Release Date: 4th quarter of this year. So sometime in the fall.
Gameplay: So TellTale games and Robert Kirkman have decided that The Walking Dead is going to triumph the game industry with console games, mobile games, social, and any other device you think you can put a game into. It's said to be a series of video games and episodes in the actual game that are based on the comic book series that places you in the comic book world rather than the show.

3. Silent Hill: Downpour

Release Date: quarter 3 2011
Official site: http://www.konami.com/games/sh/
Gameplay: The producer of the new silent hill game, Devin, said that in this installment there will be more unlocked doors throughout the city to give us an incentive to search around, because we know how frustrating it can get to go up to all the doors in the town just to realize there all LOCKED.  There will even be side mission according to Devin who also said, ""This gives the player a greater sense that they are 'exploring the town' and then rewarded with these mini-stories, we've been very careful to keep these immersive enough to make the player feel like they're still a part of the main story, yet separate enough that they aren't forced into completing all of them in a linear fashion to reach the ending." In the game you play as Murphy Pendleton, who finds himself lost and alone in the woods after his prison transport bus crashes near the town of Silent Hill. What happens after is up to the player as they traverse an all new Silent Hill environment that is expansive, yet claustrophobic. And though this sleepy town may feel desolate, the player is never truly alone. There is also going to be 2 new location called the diner and the devils pit. Water plays a huge part in this game, as you can see by the name, and also a huge part in the transition phase you usually get to experience as a player when the world turns into the not so nice silent hill. Oh and for all us fans of Pyramid Head and his infamous wrath on us game players, he will not be returning in this game =[ There will be all new enemies to hate and love, and who knows, the otherworld might become one of them. The otberworld is said to have a new feel to it that makes it more alive to the player with more puzzles and tricks to take you off your course. As far as weapons go there will be no weapons inventory and your weapons WILL be breakable so that it will be more realistic. So good luck fighting your bosses with only a knife.

(Silent Hill Game)Did you see those monsters? Have you ever seen such aberrations? Ever even heard of such things? You and I both know creatures like that don't exist

Silent Hill (the franchise)

The Most infamous boss, Pyramid Head.
Ok, first off. If you  like the horror genre and being scared out of your underwear than this is the game for you.  This game was first released in 1999 and was obviously made by Japanese game producers. Konami in particular. This is a great game for ps2 users and it has just been moved to Xbox 360, with its Silent Hill:Homecoming and is even on Wii with Silent Hill:Shattered Memories. The original version for Ps2 is probably the best installment of the game. Its the creepiest, has the best soundtrack, and best endings. Its where it all started and just like all movies it leaves the best first impression you could ever ask for a horror game. All of the games are a first person survival video game, that includes you controlling some kind of protagonist that you must try to take through and try to escape the town of Silent Hill. They all have great story lines that never veer off the path of the original, that says that silent hill is a town hosted by a freak group in which I will not explain more. You are supplied with weapons in each of these games that usually include some type of handgun, an axe, and a knife. We also can't forget the most unforgettable weapon, the radio. Though it is not a weapon that you directly hit any other enemies with, it is used as a detector of spirits. Whenever a demon dog or any other threat approaches, a white noise plays warning you of upcoming threats. This is pretty creepy when your in your bedroom playing alone and all you hear in your room is the white noise coming from your TV. If you think I'm lying, try the game out for yourself. The game controls are really easy on every platform, the only con is the camera views. They really are horrid and sometimes hurt your game play overall. The one for Xbox 360 though, beware, is probably the most difficult and provides a challenge when compared to the other games(this is said by many users).  It has a great story line regardless, but the save points are too far in between and not enough health is distributed. I completed it though, so for hard-core gamers this shouldn't be a problem. In the end, this series is one of the best in it's category, the horror genre for video games. It has even been adapted to the big screen in Silent Hill the movie(great movie 4 those who played the game/and haven't) All of the Silent Hill games include Silent Hill 1(ps2/ps); Silent Hill 2(ps2); Silent Hill 3(ps2); Silent Hill 4: the room(ps2); Silent Hill 5: Homecoming(xbox 360/ps3/pc); Silent Hill: Origins(psp/ps2); Silent Hill:Shattered Memories(wii/psp) and in the future Silent hill 6: Other recommendations, Clock Tower and Fatal Frame.
